for christmas this year, I went all DIY. as usual though, I waited until the very very last minute to get everything done! it turned out alright, especially since we celebrated christmas a couple days late, giving me a bit more time. my mom has always loved the story, Hans Brinker and the Silver Skates, so when winter weather rolls around, she reminisces aloud about that wonderful tale. I bought a mini pair of wooden clogs in the netherlands this summer, so I could make her a pair of hans-brinker-inspired clogs.

the holidays have come and gone so quickly! much fun was had and food eaten and beers drank. these santas are late, but they’re still jolly and smoking…enjoy!

this beautiful creature belongs to my dear friend, katelyn dana nau. he is a nervous wreck, known to hide in-between couch cushions when approached by strangers. he is pretty stinkin’ cute, though, even if he does suffer from irritable bowel syndrome. i love having dogs around, but i’m holding out on getting one until someone starts a dog rental service.

architecture in helsinki released a new album recently and its super fun because they are super fun. life goal: aih backup dancer. can anyone help me make this happen? i’ll settle for jumping on stage to do some spontaneous ribbon dancing.

its not even december, and I’ve already been swallowed whole by fake trees, sugar cookie scented candles and j-bieber’s pubescent singing ruining all of my favorite christmas songs. everything the bieb-machine touches is ruined for me! now, if you haven’t listened to sufjan steven’s christmas collection, then you must be living in a harshly lit cave and you should get on the interwebs and download it! (legally, of course!) i like christmas to be contained to the month of december, but i don’t hate it when a sufjan christmas song pops up on shuffle in july.

even though its still november, I’ve already made my mom’s holiday card. (much to her dismay, rudolph did not make an appearance.)  I’ve been addressing and stuffing envelopes for a couple days now and I’ve really been wishing I had that 6-headed family sweater to snug up in! SO COZY. we could do a 6-headed sweater keg stand! that would be amazing.

so, enjoy the end of november, and cherish those turkey leftovers! christmas cookies will be coming our way soon, and the gym police (my mom and dad) are on my ass to be prepared!

I’ve been on the job-hunt for a few weeks now, but haven’t struck gold, yet. I had an interview last week with a very sweet person at crispin porter + bogusky in boulder, CO, but I don’t have the golden ticket, yet. This is the thank you I sent to her, but I’m not totally sure she received it because I’m a bit suspicious of the interwebs. I feel as though my little drawing may have gotten lost in the abyss of emails and general web sorcery.

Interviews have always been difficult for me. I feel as though I can articulate myself much better through a drawing than with my actual mouth and brain. In my next interview, I shall bring a giant pad of paper and just draw pictures.

So, Amanda, if you’re out there, I’m sorry if my interview was not stellar. I blame it on my the neurons in my brain…they must have been misfiring that day. Maybe this will make up for it.

this is a birthday card for a little friend of mine named, Owen. He can be a real monkey sometimes, so I always have to tell him, “NO MONKEY BUSINESS, SIR”. and then he has to ask, “what about a just a crumb of monkey business?” so, ok just a crumb of monkey business.

but you know what happens when you give a monkey a crumb…they’re gonna want to eat sweets and then they jump all over your bed and knock down your knick-knacks and climb the curtains and harass the cats and bonk into walls. man, I wish I was 6 again.

and now i’m on the job hunt. suggestions appreciated!

i have 11 days left in france, and what did i do today? become obsessed with 30 rock. all smiles time here…

i have also been spending some time freaking people out by staring at them intently on the train and drawing them with super large foreheads…giant pores included.

i saw these two women on the train, although neither one had purple hair. i think it suits them.
